The Coach's Caddy was a turn key project to develop a portable carrier for housing coaching equipment for the hockey industry. Our customer provided the project scope and a wooden mock-up of a proposed design.
The challenge of this design was to integrate several component requirements into a single unit without addng multiple fastening features that would drive the product cost up. Utilizing locking features between the various molded parts and developing tightly toleranced self locking keyed assemblies we were able to reduce the number of fasteners to two hold down straps.
In addition to the design of the plastic parts, Rescraft sourced components and negotiated pricing for all purchased components including the retractable handle, wheels and whiteboard. Rescraft also provided the complete assembly, quality inspection and packaging of the Caddy for direct shipment to the end customer.
Utilizing a rotmolded design allowed for features such as the retractable handle, casters and latches to be built into the parts without any additional components.
The ability to have multiple draw planes allows for details such as the waterbottle cavity shown.
